Camboon Primary School has recently partnered with Real Schools. This uses a framework called Restorative Practises to develop a school’s culture. It centres on building a community and managing conflict by emphasising the importance of relationships and repairing harm when it occurs. This approach is characterised by a holistic working method centred on building a robust relational culture. There are many benefits as Camboon Primary School travels on this journey in partnership with Real Schools.
These include:
- Open and honest communication between all stakeholders including staff members, students and parents.
- Development of effective conflict resolution skills, while learning how to express their emotions in a constructive manner.
- Learning how to empathise with others, supporting students to understand how their behaviour impacts others.
- Encouraging and supporting the development of effective decision making skills.
- Promoting cultural diversity and inclusivity.
As part of our Real Schools partnership, parents and caregivers will have the opportunity to engag
e in a wide variety of resources that have been designed to bring you on this journey. You may read an article, watch a video, talk to your child and engage in ways that work best for you, as together, we walk into the restorative world.
